Job Overview:
We are seeking a skilled Seating Engineer specialising in Mechanism to join our Client’s team. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in formulating and designing the core mechanisms of various seating components. Responsibilities include design verification, material definition, supplier communication, mold confirmation, and market benchmark analysis.
Responsibilities:
- Formulate the core mechanisms for key parts such as headrests, armrests, slide rails, motors, and turntables.
- Design and verify the specific structure of the core organisation, ensuring functionality and efficiency.
- Define data, drawings, tolerances, and materials for the core organization.
- Communicate with suppliers to ensure designs comply with Design for Manufacturing (DFM) and Design for Assembly (DFA) principles.
- Confirm mold parts, analyse, and rectify product problems to ensure optimal performance.
- Conduct benchmark analysis of new mechanical parts in the market to stay updated on industry trends.
Education/Work Experience Requirements:
- Educational background: Bachelor’s degree or above in mechanics, mechanical engineering, materials science and engineering disciplines.
- At least 8 years of experience in the design and development of seat mechanism parts or core parts.
Necessary Skills and Competencies:
- Familiarity with the analysis and design of common sliding, rotating, multi-link, gear transmission, and screw drive motion pairs.
- Knowledge of specifications and applications of various dampers and springs.
- Familiarity with the physical properties of common metal and plastic materials. Ability to define materials based on part function and application environment.
- Understanding of common processing processes such as fine blanking, powder metallurgy, and 3D printing to ensure design feasibility.
- Effective communication skills to collaborate with engineers, suppliers, and address manufacturing questions efficiently.
- Proficient in English listening, speaking, reading, and writing. Capable of hosting English meetings alone and communicating effectively with customers.
